Juvenile among those arrested after Plum Food Mart robbery in Springfield

UPDATE @ 3:50 a.m: Three people, including a juvenile, were arrested after an armed robbery was reported Tuesday night at Plum Food Mart in Springfield.

Springfield police responded to the store at 1140 N. Plum St. after three suspects entered the business, displayed a handgun, and fled on foot.

They did not get away with anything, police said..

Soon after, all three suspects were found at a construction site on Wittenberg University’s campus. Police say they were not students at the institution.

Two of the suspects, only described as a juvenile and an adult, are in custody on aggravated robbery charges. One also has an additional assault charge.

The third individual who was detained has not been charged, police said.

Three robbers targeted the Plum Food Mart Tuesday night in Springfield.

The robbery was reported around 10:20 p.m. at the carry-out, 1140 N. Plum St., Springfield police said.

The suspects displayed a handgun and were last seen on foot. No injuries were reported.
