MORE: Juvenile among those arrested after Plum Food Mart robbery in Springfield
McCauley was secretly indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court, Turner said, in connection with the Plum Food Mart robbery. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, jail records indicate.
Jamari Stephens, 18, and a juvenile were also arrested and charged in connection to the robbery.
Springfield police began their investigation on Dec. 18 when they were called to the Plum Food Mart on Plum Street in reference to an armed robbery, an affidavit filed in the case says.
During the robbery, court records say one of the suspects pointed a gun at the store employee when the three entered the building. The affidavit also says an employee and a customer were pepper sprayed.

“(An employee) stated the only male he was paying attention to was pointing the gun at him,” the affidavit says. “(The employee) advised he asked the male if ‘this was for real’. (The employee) was then pepper sprayed.”
Two of the suspects then came around the counter and unsuccessfully tried to get into the cash register, the affidavit says. After the register jammed, the two other suspects began to hit the store employee and ran away, the affidavit says.
Stephens is due in court Feb. 25. A next court date for McCauley has not been set yet.
