Several theft incidents were reported in Springfield over the weekend.

Springfield police are investigating five separate theft incidents that were reported on Sunday.

Springfield dispatch received a call around 11:35 a.m. in reference to the theft of miscellaneous hand tools from a shed in the 600 block of West Pleasant Street that happened overnight, according to a police report.

“(The victim) stated she was away from her residence all day on Saturday, during which time her rear shed was broken into by an unknown suspect,” the report says.

Earlier officers were dispatched around 11 a.m. to the 700 block of West North Street in reference to a theft, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said his vehicle and residence were both broken into and items were stolen.

“When officers asked how the suspect entered his residence, (the victim) advised he did not know,” the report says.

The victim said his prescription pills and his front door and car key were stolen from his dresser, paper towels were stolen from his bedroom, and change was taken from his center console of his vehicle.

Springfield dispatch got three separate calls around 10:15 a.m., 10 a.m. and 8 a.m. in reference to the theft of three different trailers that happened sometime overnight by unknown suspect(s), according to several police reports.

One victim said his two-wheel dolly trailer that was left in the 500 block of Ludlow Avenue was stolen; another victim said a suspect stole his trailer after they cut a chain securing his trailer to a post in his backyard in the 600 block of South Arlington Avenue; and the last victim said a suspect trespassed onto his property in the 2000 block of Tanager Road and stole his 2003 trailer.

No suspect or witness information was available for any of the theft incidents, and Springfield police continue their investigations.
