Springfield bank robbery suspect passed note demanding money

A man walked into a Springfield bank on Tuesday and passed a note to tellers demanding money, according to a police report.

Officers began their investigation when they were called to the PNC bank in the 2000 block of East Main Street at around 3:49 p.m.

“Upon arrival, I spoke with staff who stated the suspect came in and provided a note asking for money,” the report says. “The employee complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot.”

The report says evidence was processed at the scene, although it doesn’t say what type of evidence was left behind.

The suspect left on foot, officers at the scene told this news organization. A K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect but was unable to.
