Springfield police officers were sent to the area of Lexington Avenue and Forrest Street at about 2:50 a.m. on a call for a woman who had been shot. She was bleeding from two wounds in her upper left thigh, the report says.

Two female witnesses told officers the woman and two males had all driven to a home in the 300 block of Greenmount Avenue so that one of the males could purchase marijuana, the report says. After a disagreement, several people inside the house came out and began to argue with the two female witnesses, who then left the vehicle.

Another man in the car got in the driver’s seat and drove off, leaving the two witnesses and the other man at the home.

The woman was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center. No charges have been filed because the investigation is still ongoing, the report says.
