A Springfield woman has been indicted after allegedly stealing from a Family Dollar.

Sparkle Eubanks, 38, was indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court this week on a robbery charge. As of Friday afternoon, Eubanks was listed as an in the Clark County Jail.

Eubanks was arrested on May 14 after officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar at 801 Selma Rd. in Springfield on a report of, “an employee fighting with a theft suspect,” according to an affidavit filed in the case.

Officers interviewed an employee at the scene who said she was working the register when Eubanks, “started to leave the store without purchasing anything,” the affidavit said.

“The security buzzer went off and (employee) yelled at Eubanks, who kept ongoing. (Employee) confronted Eubanks in the parking and told her she needed the merchandise from the store back,” the affidavit said. “Eubanks denied taking anything but then her bag fell open and (employee) could see merchandise from the store.”

The two then started fighting, the affidavit said, and the employee held Eubanks down until police arrived.

These 21 people were indicted in Clark County

“(Employee) took the merchandise back into the store and found Eubanks had taken several packs of kitchen towels, hangers and several bottles of ibuprofen,” the affidavit said.

A next court date in Eubanks’ case has not yet been scheduled.
