Springfield salon and spa burglarized: cash register taken in heist

A Springfield salon and spa was burglarized this week, according to a Springfield police report.

Springfield police responded to Oasis Salon and Spa, 124 E. College Ave., on Monday at about 11 a.m. There, they spoke with a woman who said money was missing from the cash register.

“(The witness) reported that an unknown person broke into her business between the listed time frame and removed a cash register containing an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency,” the report says. “The suspect entered the business through the rear door. I checked the rear door and noticed the door’s locking mechanism and latch had been damaged by means of a pry bar.”

No arrests were made due to lack of suspect information, the report says. The investigation is ongoing.
