Springfield police seek identity of purse theft suspect

The Springfield Police Division has released photos of a person of interest in connection with a theft that occurred last month.

The theft occurred on May 18 at the Walmart located at 200 S. Tuttle Rd. in Springfield, according to a statement from the City of Springfield.

“A shopper at the store put her purse down to take an item from the shelf and accidentally left it behind,” the statement said.”When she returned to retrieve her purse, it was gone. The victim’s purse was found a few aisles away, and some of the contents were missing.”

Missing items from the purse included her cell phone, bank cards and cash, the statement said.
