A co-defendant in the case, Miriah Hensley, 29, was sentenced to four years of intensive supervised probation for her role in the robbery.

The two were indicted in July but a date of the crime was unclear.
Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Brian Driscoll said police began their investigation when they were called after a man reported being robbed. Driscoll said Hayes agreed to sell the victim video games from the Facebook Marketplace, but when the victim arrived, he was robbed.
“Hayes stole $900 he had on his person at gunpoint,” Driscoll said.
The victim and Hayes made prior transactions together, Driscoll said, and he didn’t seem to mind being identified. That’s not uncommon when drugs are motivating factors, the prosecutor said.
“We see in cases where drug use is prevalent, in this case, it was obvious these individuals were going to go buy drugs with the money they were trying to get,” he said. “They just don’t care. They are looking to get a quick bit of money to go get that next hit of heroin and move on. The aftermath of what is going to happen next, they’re not really worried about.”

The plea agreement allowed the judge to sentence the two the way he best saw fit, Driscoll said.
Hensley will undergo drug rehab as part of her sentence.
“The most important part of that for her is she will spend an incarcerated term at West Central in Marysville,” Driscoll said. “That’s a program designed specifically for drug and alcohol where she may get able to get the help and get out of the cycle and live a productive life when she is released.”
