Justin L. Wallace, 37, of 258 S. Plum St., and Zackene S. Portis, 43, 0f 1159 S. Yellow Springs St., have each been charged with one count of aggravated robbery. They’re expected to appear in the Clark County Municipal Court at 10:30 a.m. today.
Springfield police were dispatched to an apartment in the 400 block of South Limestone St. on Sept. 29 after two males allegedly entered a home and assaulted another man. The two men ran through an alley near the home and the victim — covered in blood — followed, according to a police report.

The victim had multiple facial injuries, according to police. He told police he was sitting in the apartment when two men entered the room and one pointed a silver gun at him, according to a police report. The victim told police he knew the victim from high school and they were recently feuding over a poker game that took place a few days ago. The suspect allegedly accused the victim of cheating him out of a $20 and then stole his wallet, which held about $300.
The victim tried to leave the apartment, but the suspects began beating him and kicking him while he was on the ground. He could also hear the girlfriend of one of the suspects in the background yelling “Get him.” The victim later told police he fell face first down the stairs of the apartment complex while attempting to get away.
Both suspects were arrested on Wednesday morning, according to jail records.
