“This violent assault left Fletcher’s girlfriend with a broken nose and finger and caused serious bruising on her face and body,” Clark County Proseuctor Dan Driscoll said in a statement. “Great work by Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Megan Farley and the Springfield Police Division on this case.”

Springfield police began their investigation June 22 when they were contacted by a man who said a woman he knew was messaging him on Facebook telling him that she needed help. Officers were able to find the woman at a home on Portage Path a short time later.

“As we reached the front door, we observed blood all over the floor in the living room,” an affidavit filed with the charge says.

The affidavit says the woman’s face was severely injured and her lips were swollen and bleeding.

The woman was taken to the Springfield Regional Medical Center, the affidavit says. Police said they were able to speak to witnesses at the home who said they saw Fletcher hitting the woman, but couldn’t intervene because he threatened them too.
