Lee also must register as a Tier II sex offender. As a Tier II sex offender, he must register with the state every 180 days for the next 25 years.

Springfield police began their investigation into Lee in early 2019 after the division was contacted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit — a task force created by the U.S. Department of Justice — according to an affidavit filed in his case.
The unit told Springfield police that it received information from Google and Dropbox that accounts belonging to Lee had child pornography in them.
“Around April 8, Google became aware and reported that there were six uploaded files/images downloaded to the account belonging to (Lee’s email),” the affidavit said. “Google reported this information. Google identified the account belonging to Warren Lee Jr., with a mobile phone number.”

Lee was arrested on Aug. 30, according to the affidavit, after Springfield police said they found numerous images of child pornography while searching his cellphone.
“On Aug. 30, after a consent to search from Warren Lee Jr. to search his cellphone, it was found there were 22 images of children engaged in sex acts, six images of children on his phone where this is focused nudity and 18 images of children which are nude,” the affidavit said. “Also, on his cellphone were three videos which contained two children engaging in sex acts and one with a child was nude.”
According to the affidavit, one of the images showed a 4-year-old girl nude.
