Littleton was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault in December. The attempted murder charge was dismissed in the case at the same time Littleton pleaded guilty to the assault charge.

He will also be required to serve three years parole after he is released from prison.
Police said Littleton got into an argument with a man at his mother’s home on Erie Avenue that eventually led to gunfire. His mother was struck in the head by a bullet, according to police. She survived the injury.
Clark County Common Pleas Court Judge Douglas Rastatter sentenced Littleton to prison. In the entry, he said many factors played into his decision.
“The court considered the record, oral statements of counsel, the defendant’s statement, and the principles and purposes of sentencing under the Ohio Revised Code … and then balanced the seriousness and recidivism factors,” Rastatter wrote.
Defense Attorney David Stenson said his client plans to appeal the ruling. He said neither he nor his client expected Littleton to get five years in prison.

He believes Clark County’s courts are fair, but Stenson said because Littleton was a first-time offender, he didn’t expect a lengthy prison sentence. Stenson declined further comment because of the appeal.
According to police, witnesses told them at the scene the fight started after the man confronted Littleton over who he was bringing to the house. A witness told police that Littleton and the man began to fight, but the two men separated.
However, the fight wasn’t over, according to police.
“Mr. Littleton had several alcoholic drinks in the time spent separated and he ingested a full Xanax bar,” a police affidavit states.
Soon after Littleton entered the bedroom, where both his mother and the man were in and “raised a pistol at (the man) and fired two shots,” police said.
The first shot was believed to be over the head of both his mother and the man but the second shot struck his mother.
