Springfield Police began their investigation at around 8 p.m. Tuesday night when they were called to a home on the 500 block of East Pleasant Street. (The victim) had made arrangements to buy some video games from the suspects,” the report says. “They arrived around 7:50 p.m. and showed (the victim) a set of headphones and a curling iron still in the box. The male suspect then told the female suspect to ‘get the video games from their van.’”

When the woman went to the van, the man pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and told (the victim) to ‘give up the money’, the report says.

The man said at first he thought it was a joke because he had previously bought items from the couple, the report says. However, the man continued to demand money and eventually left the scene with cash, according to the report.
