Derrick L. Brock, 28, has been charged with two counts of assault and was also charged with violating a protection order from an outstanding warrant. He’s expected to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Brock was taken to the hospital by medics on Aug. 31 after an apparent overdose and was later placed in the ICU unit, according to a police report.

Brock was being walked down the hallway with a nurse and a nurses aide at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning when he began to run away from them. He made it to an elevator where a woman was holding the door for him. The aide was able to grab Brock by the arm, but he began choking her before a security guard arrived and took Brock back to his room.
A few minutes later, Brock charged at the aide back in the room, but the guard attempted to restrain him. The man began to shove the security guard around the room, causing multiple deep cuts to his arm that required treatment.
