MORE CRIME: Car rams into Springfield drive-thru, money and cigarettes stolen
Police were sent to the 400 block of Gallagher Street about 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
Smith came to the home with a truck on Saturday to pick up some of his belongings there, including a washing machine which allegedly didn’t belong to him, according to a Springfield police report. That led to an argument between Smith, a woman he knows and two roommates, police said.

The argument enraged Smith, according to the police report, and he allegedly rammed a parked car with the truck and then backed over a no parking sign. When police arrived, Smith allegedly told officers he caused the damage on purpose and that he would do it again.
He then allegedly turned around, placed his hands behind his back and said, “I don’t give a (expletive) … I’m going to prison anyway!”
Smith was also issued citations for non-compliance suspension, child support suspension and license forfeiture suspension, the report says.
