“(The victim’s) entire face was swollen and he was bleeding from several different areas,” the report says.

The victim told police that he had been robbed by a couple strangers, the report says, but then changed his story and told police that he was hit and robbed by people he knew.
The report says police interviewed the suspects but found no evidence they were involved in the beating. After police returned to the victim at Springfield Regional Medical Center, the victim gave more details, the report says.
“(The victim) went onto state that he was walking with the two males and said something that upset (one of them),” the report says. “(The man) then punched him and knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face.”
He said it was then the other man he was walking with took a brick in each hand and hit him in the face several times.
The report says the men allegedly took a backpack and $80 from the victim. No arrests have been made in the case.
