Springfield father indicted in death of 3-month-old daughter

A father accused of killing his 3-month-old daughter has been indicted by a Clark County Grand Jury on a murder charge.

Brian Hayslip, 22, of Springfield, is facing murder, involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidences charges in Clark County Common Pleas Court. Hayslip is accused of shaking baby Lilly Hayslip when she wouldn’t stop crying Dec. 27.

Officials said Lilly appears to have died from a subdermal hematoma to the brain, which is common for babies who were shaken.

In an exclusive interview with this news organization, Hayslip said the incident was an accident and that if he could he would take it all back.

A future court date for Hayslip has not been set in the case.
