Carson appeared in Clark County Municipal Court on Tuesday morning and pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence. He was given a $2,500 bond and a no-contact order with the victim.
Springfield City School District spokesperson Cherie Moore said the district had no comment on Carson’s arrest, as it is still under investigation.
Moore said the district is not ready to discuss Carson’s status with the district. However, assistant coach Matt Yinger filled in for Carson at the Wildcats Flyin’ To The Hoop game on Monday, where Carson was absent.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, the Springfield Police Division was dispatched to the 1000 block of Ryan Circle at around 7 a.m. on Saturday on a report of a “domestic dispute.”
“(Victim) advised she arrived home from an evening out with friends and went to sleep in her son’s room,” the affidavit said. “She states she was awakened (Saturday morning) around 7 a.m. by Mr. Carson ripping her blanket off of her and choking her.”
The victim said Carson then threw her from the bed, causing her to hit her head on a nearby nightstand causing injury, the affidavit said.
“(Victim) advised she may have lost consciousness around that time. She advised she noticed she was bleeding somewhat heavily,” the affidavit said. “(Victim) had several marks and scrapes about her neck and right eye. She complained of pain all over her body.”
The victim said she was planning to seek medical treatment later Saturday afternoon, the affidavit said.

“(Victim) stated Mr. Carson had taken her phone from their son’s room, but she was able to call for assistance through her smartwatch,” the affidavit said. “(Victim) then ran downstairs and fled the residence to a friend’s house, at which time PD was contacted again.”
Officers at the scene were unable to make contact with Carson, the affidavit said, at which time a warrant was issued for his arrest.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Carson was not listed as an inmate in the Clark County Jail.
