Women missing from Springfield: 3 open Clark County cases

Investigators and other local enforcement agencies are always searching for clues in missing women cases in our region.  Here are three notable cases from Springfield.

These three woman are still missing from Springfield — from the left, Amber Whitmer, Amanda Ward-Romine and Michelle L. Rice. Anyone with information is asked to call the Springfield Police Division at 937-3247-7685.

AMBER WHITMER

Amber Whitmer was last seen by her mother, Karen Whitmer, in May 2016. She usually would check in at least once every three months, Karen Whitmer said.

A missing person report was filled with the Springfield Police Division on May 9, 2016, and police have opened an investigation into her disappearance.

Whitmer is a 31-year-old, white female with with brown hair. She’s about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Amber Whitmer has been charged in the past with solicitation.

DETAILS: Police ask for help to find Springfield woman missing after a year

AMANDA WARD-ROMINE

Amanda Ward-Romine was last seen July 7, 2013, in the 300 block of Buxton Avenue in Springfield.

She was staying in her Indian Lake home, but left July 5 to go back to live with her husband at their Avondale Avenue home in Springfield, her sister Aliya Lindsey told the Springfield News-Sun in December 2013.

She was reported missing on Aug. 9, 2013, after many family members said they hadn’t heard from her.

EARLIER: Police concerned about fate of missing Ward-Romine

Her husband Daniel Romine, a person of interest in disappearance, was found dead in 2015.

According to a report filed with the Springfield Police Division, Ward-Romine is described as 5-foot, 2-inch woman who weighs about 130 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. The report shows she has a tattoo of a fish on the right side of her neck.

MICHELLE L. RICE

Michelle Rice disappeared in late September 2009. She was last seen at her workplace in Springfield. Rice would be 46-years-old now.

She’s described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, 5-feet tall and weighing 105 pounds.

Rice has a feather tattoo with a dream catcher on her left calf and a C-section scar on her stomach.
