Springfield police are investigating more reports of catalytic converter thefts from vehicles.

Officers were dispatched around 12:45 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of South York Street in reference to the theft of catalytic converters off multiple vehicles, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, the reporting party told them that sometime between Sunday night into Monday morning, multiple vehicles were damaged after the catalytic converters were sawed off and stolen.

No suspect information was available, and Springfield police continue their investigation into these incidents.

Police also responded last week to two other reports of attempted catalytic converter thefts from vehicles.

These incidents were reported on Feb. 6 at Cracker Barrel, 105 W. Leffel Lane, and on South Fountain Avenue.

The two male suspects from the incidents were described to be between the ages of 28 and 32, about 5-foot-7, and around 135 pounds. They were reportedly driving a blue four-door car, possibly a Chevrolet Impala.
