When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said she was asleep before being woken up by a chair being hit by her kitchen door.
“She said she got up to find an unknown suspect leaving her house with a bag that contained boots and DVDs. She said she grabbed the bag as the suspect was leaving out the door,” the report says. “She said the suspect said he thought this was someone else’s house, got into her GMC Terrain and fled south on South Douglas from there.”

After checking her house, she said some of her items had been rummaged through and her change jar was dumped on the floor.
A short time later, a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy found the stolen vehicle traveling north on South Fostoria Avenue from High Street, according to a second Springfield police report.
“He [the deputy] advised he passed the vehicle going the opposite direction and could see the driver,” the report says. “He then lost track of the vehicle for a short time.”

The deputy then located the vehicle again crashed on North Fostoria At Kohl Avenue.
“No one was in the vehicle at this time, but three possible suspects fled from the area,” the report says.
No charges have been filed at this time. No other suspect or witness information was available.
Springfield police and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office continue their investigation into this incident.
