Report: Springfield pizza delivery driver robbed of $70 worth of food at gunpoint

Springfield police are investigating a robbery where a Domino’s pizza delivery driver was held up at gunpoint.

Authorities were called to the 800 block of West High Street where a driver told them he was delivering a large order of food when he was robbed on Nov. 11.

“(The driver) stated he parked his vehicle west of the house,” the report says. “When (he) approached the door to the residence, the unknown suspects walked out from under the stairwell.”

The report says two men were wearing hoodies and bandanas over their face.

“(The driver) stated the suspect in the blue bandana had a silver handgun in his hand and told (him) to drop the food on the ground. (The driver) set the food on the ground and began to back away from the suspects. The suspect with the red bandana told (him) to get on the ground, but (the driver) continued to slowly walk backward.”

The driver said he eventually ran back to his car without being harmed.

The report says the food was valued at $70.40. No charges are being filed at this time, the report says, because there is no suspect information.
