Report: Shots fired during Pizza and Stuff robbery

A Springfield pizzeria was robbed at gunpoint and shots were fired during the incident, according to a police report.

Springfield police began their investigation on Tuesday at around 10 p.m. when they were called to Pizza and Stuff on West High Street.

“(The victims) stated that the suspect entered the store from the drive-through entrance,” the report says. “He then grabbed (a woman) and yelled at her to give him all the money.”

The report says during the robbery, the man showed a gun and fired it.

“He then brandished a black, semi-automatic handgun and fires a round into a cigarette shelf,” the report says. “The suspect then grabs an unknown amount of U.S. Currency from the register that (the woman) opened.”

The man then fled southbound away from the store, according to the report.

Shell casings were later located and recovered by police in a trash can next to the cigarettes, according to the report. They were collected and submitted into evidence.
