POLICE: 45 vehicle batteries stolen from Springfield Walmart

Springfield police are investigating a burglary at a Springfield Walmart.

Officers were dispatched to Walmart at 200 Tuttle Road on Wednesday for a possible break-in. When they met with employees they said someone had stolen vehicle batteries.

“An unknown suspect cut the lock on the gate near the vehicle service entrance where oil and tire changes are conducted,” a police report says. “(An employee) said that the suspect stole 45 vehicle batteries, totaling an unknown value. (The employee) said that the suspect additionally stole vehicle tires, but they were not of monetary value.”

No arrest was made because of the lack of suspect information, the report says.
