Police investigate 3 vehicle break-ins reported at Springfield hotel lot

Police are investigating three reported vehicle break-ins that happened in the parking lot of a Springfield hotel.

Officers responded around 7 a.m. Friday to Country Inn & Suites, 1751 W. First St., on three separate theft incidents that reportedly happened some time overnight, according to Springfield police reports.

The victims told police that someone had broken into their vehicles through a window while they were parked on the lot of the hotel.

One victim told officers a Ruger LC9 9mm with a full seven-round magazine and a small rolling suitcase was stolen from his car.

The other victim told officers a tan and blue bag with assorted men’s clothing, a Garmin GPS, a Carhartt men’s large coat and overall bibs, and two hard hats with headphones, batteries and chargers were stolen from his work truck.

Springfield police investigate reported armed robbery of a teen

The last victim told officers a gray and orange men’s size 11 mock boots, a pair of Costa sunglasses, men’s Carhartt overalls, a small plastic bag full of U.S. coins/quarters, and two unknown brand of black flashlights were stolen from his pickup.

No suspect information was available, and Springfield police continue their investigation into these incidents.
