Officers were dispatched around 1:45 a.m. Saturday to Jimmy T’s Saloon located at 1922 Lagonda Avenue regarding a vehicle being on fire, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with the owner of the bar who said the vehicle belonged to his wife.

“The vehicle that was caught on fire by an unknown suspect(s) was a 2012 black Jeep Liberty,” the report says. “It was behind the bar, facing southbound in the parking lot.”

Police and fire officials said the burned vehicle incident is being investigated as an arson.

No suspect or witness information was available.

The divisions are also investigating other vehicle fires that were reported earlier this month as an arson.

The most recent vehicle fire was reported on March 13 in the 1800 block of Highland Avenue after someone set a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe station wagon ablaze.
