Police: Customer coughs in employee’s face over mask requirement

A customer coughed in an employee’s face, also giving her grief about mask requirements, according to a Bellefontaine police report.

Officers were called around 12:20 p.m. Friday to North Main Eyecare, 1008 N. Main St. in Bellefontaine regarding the incident that was reported to have happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, the report stated.

The employee told police that saliva hit her in the face as the customer was trying to forcefully cough in her face, according to the report.

At this time, the victim said she did not want to seek criminal charges.

The officer said the report will be forwarded to the Logan County Health Department.

North Main Eyecare said it would inform the patient they would not do business with them again, the report stated.
