One person has been arrested after leading Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers on a chase from state Route 41 in Springfield to state Route 48 in Dayton, a distance of more than 30 miles.

According to dispatchers, the pursuit began after troopers tried to pull over a car for speeding at 1:27 a.m. near the Love’s Truck Stop on Route 41 in Springfield.

The car took off from the stop, and troopers gave chase.

In scanner traffic, we heard the chase take a long route down Interstate 70 before jumping onto state Route 4, with troopers reporting the suspect driving faster than 100 mph at times.

At one point, troopers over scanner traffic said that the suspect exited Route 4 on Harshman Road and threw something out of the vehicle before getting back on the highway and continuing toward downtown Dayton.

Dispatchers were unable to confirm what that may have been.

From there the pursuit led onto southbound Interstate 75, before the suspect exited the highway on Route 48 and coming to a stop.

We are working to learn more and will update this story with any new information.
