In addition, Gouker was charged with four counts of forcible oral sodomy, and one count each of rape, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
“The district attorney is seeking the death penalty in this matter,” said Russ Cochran, a Pottawatomie County assistant district attorney.
Glendon Gouker’s sister, Michele E. Gouker, 29, was also charged in connection with the case. She is facing charges of kidnapping, shooting with intent to kill and unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.
Miles Zimmerman, Glendon Gouker’s attorney, could not be reached for comment Friday afternoon.
According to information from the district attorney’s office, Kline, who is referred to in court documents as Ethan James Walton, met with Glendon Gouker on Sept. 8 to discuss a land transaction.
Kline’s girlfriend told investigators they went into a shed, and the suspects told her she was also needed inside to sign documents. But Kline was killed, and she told investigators the suspects kidnapped and sexually assaulted her. She was eventually able to escape through a window, and ran to a nearby home where she called for help.
Cochran said Gouker is expected to face a preliminary hearing on Oct. 26.
