The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced it will conduct an OVI Checkpoint tonight.

The checkpoint will take place on State Route 72 between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers,” a media release says.

It will be conducted with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

“The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes,” the release says.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol suggests if you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink.

“Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” the release says.
