A New Carlisle 15-year-old charged with murder is due in court Friday.
Natasha Ellis is charged in Clark County Juvenile Court with murder and two counts of felonious assault. Prosecutors have asked the court to release control of the case so that they can try to indict her in Clark County Common Pleas Court where she would face adult punishment.

An amenability hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday morning in front of Clark County Juvenile Court Judge Katrine Lancaster so she can weigh whether Ellis can be rehabilitated in the juvenile system or if her alleged crimes call for her to be tried as an adult.
Ellis’ legal troubles began on May 23. Law enforcement said Ellis worked with a 13-year-old to break into the 13-year-old’s home and attack her family.
The girls are charged in the stabbing death of 36-year-old Lee Moore, the mother of the 13-year-old. They are also accused of attacking the 13-year-old’s father and brother. Ellis was pinned down to the ground by the family members during the attack and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two girls at the scene, according to testimony and sheriff’s reports.
A Clark County Sheriff’s deputy told the juvenile court last month that Ellis and the 13-year-old had been messaging back and forth on Instagram about how to carry out the attack — all the way until moments before the stabbing happened.
Clark County prosecutors said the murder case against the 13-year-old cannot be sent to adult court because the defendant is legally too young.
