A three-month-old baby died in a two-car crash on Easter Sunday in Springfield, and at least four others were injured and transported to local hospitals.

Jameson Crim, three months old, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at the intersection of South Shaffer and West Jefferson streets, according to a Springfield Police Division traffic report released Monday.

Two adults and two children were also injured.

Krystal Crim, 48, and Christina Crim, 28, were both flown to Miami Valley Hospital where they were listed in critical condition Monday afternoon. Deangelo Parsley, 11, was flown to Dayton Children’s Hospital where he was listed in fair condition. Damarion Parsley, 8, was taken to the Springfield Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released Sunday, according to hospital staff.

The report showed Krystal Crim was driving a red 1997 Honda Accord headed north on South Shaffer Street at 2:25 p.m. Sunday and was stopped at a stop sign. Neil E. Segovia, 30, was driving a gray 2009 Jaguar XF and was headed west on West Jefferson St.

Krystal Crim allegedly failed to yield the right of way and tried to continue north when Segovia’s Jaguar hit her Honda on the right side, according to the report. Segovia wasn’t injured and fled the scene on foot, police said, although Segovia returned to the crash site a short time later.

Jameson Crim was wearing a child restraint, the report says, although Deangelo and Damarion Parsley, passengers in the Honda, allegedly weren’t wearing seat belts.

No citations have been issued, and the crash remains under investigation.

The report says Segovia is suspected of drug use and that a alcohol and drug blood test was taken, but that the results are still unknown.

Douglas Rowland, a family friend, said the two women involved in the crash were the infant’s mother and grandmother. A makeshift memorial stood at the crash site with the infant’s name on Monday.

“It’s terrible,” Rowland said. “Especially on a holiday like Easter, when you have such a tragedy happen.”

He said the family is very upset over Jameson’s death.

“The baby was just beautiful … just a beautiful baby and so young, full of energy,” Rowland said.
