Car struck while traveling on South Shaffer Street
According to a report from the Springfield Police Division, a red Honda Accord was traveling north on South Shaffer Street about 2:25 p.m. April 2 when it was struck on the passenger side by a grey Jaguar at the intersection of West Jefferson Street.
The driver of the Jaguar allegedly fled the scene of the accident, police said, but later returned.

1 baby dead, 4 others wounded
Three-month-old Jameson Crim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deangelo Parsley, 6, was flown to Dayton Children’s Hospital, and is currently listed in fair condition on Monday. Damarion Parsley, 8, was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center and later released. Two women, Krystal Crim, 48, and Christina Crim, 28, were flown to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were listed in critical condition on Monday afternoon.
The driver of the Jaguar, identified as Neil Segovia, 30, wasn’t injured, police said.

No citations issued yet
According to a preliminary report from police, Krystal Crim allegedly failed to yield right of way when the crash occurred. Police are still investigating the crash and haven’t issued any citations.
Segovia is suspected of using drugs, the crash report says, but the results of a blood test aren’t known yet.
