Man indicted for injuries to Clark County K-9 officer

A man wanted on several warrants ran from Clark County Sheriff’s deputies and injured the K-9 officer Yari during his arrest in December, investigators said.

Paul Powell Jr., 28, of 717 Reed St. was indicted on a charge of assault or harassing a police dog.

Powell kicked Yari during his arrest on Dec. 20, breaking one of the dog’s teeth, according to court records.

Powell was wanted on warrants and had crack cocaine in his possession at the time of his arrest, court records state.

Clark County Prosecutor Andy Wilson reports the grand jury met and returned the following indictments:

Aaron Tyree Clay, 24, 535 Knickerbocker Ave.: Possession of cocaine.

Douglas Sherrock Sr., 53, 1374 Concord Ave.: Domestic violence.

Tejuan D. Bradley, 26, 619 Miami St.: Rape.

Daniel W. Jones, 26, 1649 Daleridge, New Carlisle: Four counts of burglary.

Devin E. Arnett, 21, 1432 Catherine St.: Receiving stolen property.

Tyer R. Gordon, 25, 1842 Woodward Ave.: Deception to obtain a dangerous drug (3 counts).

Michael Murray, 28, 1029 W. Pleasant St.: Failure to comply with order or signal of police officer.

Paul Powell Jr., 28, 717 Reed St.: Assault or harassing a police dog.

Brittany Holloway, 26, 2141 Seminole Ave.: Theft, receiving stolen property.

Mitchell Ian Browning, 34, 292 Johnson Ave.: Possession of cocaine.

Jonathan W. Robinson, 20, 1587 Warder St.: Receiving stolen property.

Jerry R. Clifford Sr., 39, 306 S. Yellow Springs St.: Burglary (2 cts).

Jalill A. Scott, 29, 315 S. Burnett Road, Apt. 803: Theft

Anthony D. Young, 45, 1938 Broadway: Possession of heroin, aggravated possession of drugs

Martin Wenzler, 32: Failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, receiving stolen property.

Ashley Woodruff, 25, 414 N. Jackson St.: Possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence.
