A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly attempted to hide drugs before being booked into the Clark County Jail.

Donald R. Silvers III, 34, is facing charges of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility and drug abuse. He’s expected to appear in the Clark County Municipal Court at 10:30 a.m. today.

He’s also facing charges for several other outstanding warrants, including two counts of burglary, two counts of criminal damaging and one count of breaking and entering.

After appearing in court on Nov. 14, Silvers was brought back to the jail intake area for a change over search. Silvers allegedly took off all of his clothing except his boxers and while attempting to change his clothes dropped a plastic bag from his hand. He then allegedly tried to hide the baggie and then attempted to put it in his mouth, but deputies were able to recover the drugs. After a lab test was completed, the drugs inside the bag tested positive for suboxone. A warrant was filed for Silvers’ arrest on Jan. 14.

On Oct. 18, several handguns, a flat screen television and a laptop were reported stolen from a home in the 7000 block of Old Columbus Road, according to a police report. The man also told deputies the home smelled of cigarettes, but no one who lives there smokes. A few days later, a cigarette butt found at the home was later tested and allegedly matched Silvers’ DNA, the report said.

Last year, Silvers was accused of attempting to break into a restaurant and having messages on his cell phone stating he intended to steal a rifle in order to “blaze” police.
