The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be conducting two OVI checkpoints announced.

OSP, in conjunction with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Enon Police Department, said an OVI checkpoint will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight on Dayton-Springfield Road east of Enon Road in Enon.

A second checkpoint will be held from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on US 40 east of US 68 in Springfield Township.

“The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

OVI checkpoints are designed to not only deter impaired driving, but to proactively remove these dangerous drivers from our roadways,” a release says.

The OSP says if anyone plans to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements beforehand.

“Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless act of getting behind the wheel impaired,” the release says.
