Kane daughter in Arizona jail for attempted first-degree murder

The daughter of Jerry Kane, the former Springfield man who is suspected in the shooting deaths of two West Memphis police officers, is in prison in Arizona on charges she plotted to kill a woman whom her boyfriend had befreinded on MySpace, the Commercial Appeal newspaper is reporting.

The paper reported Tuesday “Heather Michelle Kane, 26, is being held at the Arizona State Prison Complex in Perryville, Ariz., after pleading guilty in 2007 to attempted first-degree murder and attempted kidnapping. A judge sentenced her to 13 years in prison.

Heather Kane would be the half-sister to Joseph Kane, the 16-year-old son of Jerry Kane.”

Jerry Kane, 45, and Joseph are suspected in the shooting deaths of two West Memphis police officers. Both the Kanes were killed in a shoot-out with law enforcement Thursday 90-minutes after the two officers were killed after pulling the Kane’s vehicle over on Interstate 40.
