Springfield police are investigating an armed robbery at a local Family Dollar.

Police were dispatched to the Family Dollar on the corner of Selma Avenue and East Street. Police said a man entered the store around 9:30 a.m., displayed a gun, and demanded cash.

The man fled the scene on foot, investigators said.
