Municipal court charges against a daycare owner accused of assaulting a child in his care were dismissed this week.

Arthur Hanson, 64, was charged in Clark County Municipal Court with assault and endangering children. Those charges were dismissed at the request of the city prosecutor, according to court documents.

The charges were also dropped without costs, according to court records.

Hanson had been accused in connection to an alleged incident at the facility on Jan. 25 that reportedly took place at the High Hopes Learning Center.

According to court records, Hanson took three kids to the basement area and into an adjacent room where they were lined up waiting for the school bus. While in the room, Hanson is accused of using his hand to grab and squeeze the face, leaving visible red marks and imprints on the child’s forehead and temple area.

The childcare center is located at 20 Davis Ave. in Enon.

No further information about why the case was dismissed was available as part of the court record. A request for comment sent to the city prosecutor wasn’t returned Wednesday.
