Springfield police responded to the school at 821 N. Limestone St. at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and spoke with the school’s director, Jeff Waechter.
“Mr. Waechter stated a 17-year-old student came into his office to speak with him concerning a lunch related issue,” the police report says. “During this meeting, (the student) became upset and yelled ‘(expletive) this, I’m going to go home, get my gun and I’m going to come back and shoot everyone’.”
The report says the principal ordered the student to sit down and the student did, however, a witness said there were two students that heard the threat and ran away, the report says.
The 17-year-old was arrested on a charge of inducing panic, according to the police report. He was placed in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center, according to the report.
