The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is warning about scam phone calls in the county.

Deputies on Friday night received two reports of callers claiming to be from the sheriff’s office. The callers say the residents owe money for fines and need to get a payment card or they will be arrested.

“The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has NEVER and will NEVER call anyone and try to collect monies for fines!” deputies posted on its Facebook page.

Anyone who receives such a call is urged to report it by calling dispatch at 937-328-2560.

The sheriff’s office also reminds residents that scammers take advantage of the giving season and to take extra care to safeguard personal information.
