A notice stated the court will close Friday morning.

“The Clark County Municipal Court has rescheduled all morning hearings for Friday, Dec. 28, to permit those who wish to attend funeral services for Judge Nevius to do so,” the notice says. “Matters will be rescheduled and parties notified by mail of the new date. The arraignment session of the court will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Judge (Denise) Moody’s courtroom. Any proceeding previously scheduled for Friday afternoon, Dec. 28, will occur as scheduled.”
Moody said Nevius served Clark County well.
“He was dedicated to the court, a fine judge and a fine human being and we are all mourning his loss,” she said.
While the courtrooms will close, the Clark County Municipal Court Clerk’s Office will remain open throughout the day, the notice says.

Nevius grew up in Clark County and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1965. He attended Xavier University and received his law degree from Ohio Northern University.
Nevius won several elections in his career, including to his latest six-year term in 2015.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich appointed former Clark County Prosecutor Stephen Schumaker to replace Nevius as judge. He is expected to be sworn in on Dec. 28.
