“It is hereby ordered that the dispositional hearing in the within matter currently scheduled for May 21 at 8:45 a.m. is hereby vacated and reassigned for a review hearing on June 24 at 11 a.m.,” court records say.
Watkins sexually assaulted a girl at a Clark County church function affiliated with North Hampton Community Church, 110 Community Drive, the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The specifics of the crime is still unclear. However, as a result of Watkins’ plea, he was labeled a Tier II sexual offender, meaning he will have to register his address with his local sheriff’s office every 180 days for the next 25 years.
Watkins was a student in the Northeastern Local School District and the Springfield Clark County Career Technology Center. The prosecutor’s office said Watkins was enrolled in the early childhood education program at the CTC.
Both schools declined to comment on the case because of student privacy laws.
Watkins was indicted and arraigned in Clark County Common Pleas Court on April 29, according to online court documents. He was released under the condition that he does not have contact with the victim or unsupervised contact with any other children.
