RELATED: Friday night blitz: More than a dozen people arrested
The busts were part of the Bethel Twp. blitz where law enforcement from different agencies cracked down on crime in Bethel Twp. on Friday night. Clark County Sheriff Deb Burchett said selling alcohol to minors won’t be tolerated.
“I am not going to put up with it,” Burchett said.
Cracking down on selling to underage teens will result in less drinking and driving incidents, she said, and also deter sexual assaults.
“We felt that was important because this is a way to be protecting the juveniles in our community,” she said.
“We are sending a message,” Burchett said. “This was our first and it won’t be our last.”
An underage informant bought a can or bottle of alcohol from different locations, according to court records. Schwartz was at the Community Market, Hawes was at Pizza Plus in New Carlisle and Wright was at J &R Drive Thru.
