Bullet hole in window reported at Springfield home

A Springfield woman said she woke up and found a bullet hole in one of her windows at her home.

Springfield police were dispatched Saturday morning to a home on the 500 block of South Belmont Avenue, according to a Springfield Police Division report. A resident there said she heard what sounded like gunfire the night before, according to the police report.

“(The woman) stated that this morning there was glass all over the floor and what appeared to be a bullet hole in the window on the north side of the residence,” the report says.

The woman didn’t know who it could have been, the report says. The report lists the incident as a vandalsim.

Police are still investigating, according to the report.
