Two Springfield men are accused of holding a victim at gunpoint and robbing him of clothing and valuables.

Brandon Wilson, 23, and Dantez Craigmiles, 36, were indicted in Clark County Common Pleas Court on a charge of aggravated robbery. A next court date in the case had not been set, according to online records. The case was heard by a Clark County Grand Jury this week, according to the Clark County Prosecutors Office.

Springfield police began their investigation on Feb. 12 when they were called to the 2000 block of Derr Road to meet with a victim who said he had been robbed at gunpoint, according to an affidavit filed in Clark County Municipal Court.

“(The) victim stated he was contacted by defendant 1 (Brandon Wilson) wanting to know if the victim wanted to purchase a cell phone, ring, or a necklace that he had for sale,” the affidavit says. “(The) victim stated (a) witness drove him to 1951 Wilkes Dr. located in Ronez Manor to meet Wilson and upon entering the apartment defendant#2 (Dantez Craigmiles) and (an unknown) defendant came into the room and Craigmiles pointed an unknown silver/black semi-auto handgun at him and stated ‘strip’”

The man said he hesitated and Craigmiles placed the handgun to his face.

The man said he then “stripped down to his underclothes, the defendants took his clothing, cell phone, wallet containing $69, and personal items,” the affidavit says. The victim fled and called police after Craigmiles ordered he be tied up, according to the affidavit.

This isn’t the first time Craigmiles or Wilson had a run in with the law. Wilson is currently facing a felonious assault charge in connection with a June shooting. Craigmiles had been charged with attempted murder in connection to a 2016 shooting but that case was dismissed.

Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Brian Driscoll said he had to dismiss that case because the victim refused to cooperate with authorities as the case moved closer to trial.
