“Upon arrival officers located the back door of the building that was no the north side of the building unlocked,” the report says. “Officers checked the building and found no one inside.”
The owner of the auto parts store was called, the police report says, and told officers that he could review footage of the breaking and entering.
“The surveillance footage showed the suspect first approached the business on the southwest side garage door at approximately 4:52 a.m.,” the report says. “The suspect then removed a plexiglass window on the garage door and made entry into the business. The suspect then walked directly in front of the camera. The suspect was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with a hat and light-colored jeans.”
The suspect can be seen inside and walking out the back of the business, the report says.
“(The owner) advised officers that the suspect took a hot water extractor valued at $2,000,” the report says. “Officers took photos of the entry point of the business and the serial number of the hot water extractor.”
No charges have been filed in connection to the case, but police are still investigating.
