Cheryl Dillin, chief brand officer of Dayton-based Dillin Corp., which is organizing the event explained that they had to change bands when they rescheduled The Freedom Tour. Stranger and Rock This Way were originally expected to perform.
“Rayne Johnson has a smash hit, ‘Front Seat’ so we are thrilled we were able to make the date and timing work to bring him to the Clark County Freedom Tour,” Dillin said. “Country music and the red white and blue seem like a great way to put an exclamation point on summer - and that’s just what we’re going to do.”
She added, “The fireworks and pyrotechnic finale sponsored by Coldwell Banker Heritage are worth it alone, but now adding in Rayne - it’s really going to be fantastic.”
The Freedom Tour, which was previously scheduled for Friday, July 31, will now take place 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7.
Dillin explained they decided to reschedule the music tour and fireworks show because they were asked to change some of their standards for social distancing.
“They’re recommending now that 6 feet isn’t enough, that they would prefer 8 to 10 feet and that changed a lot for us,” Dillin said.
They used the additional time to reconfigure their parking plan - creating more space between cars.
Other planned events include food trucks and a show featuring skydiving and pyrotechnics.
Admission is $35 per car, $50 for an SUV and $150 for RVs.
Proceeds are to be donated to the Clark County Agricultural Society Endowment and the Springfield Foundation Four Corners development
The Freedom Tour will begin Aug. 7 at Lidner Family Tennis Center in Mason. Other scheduled events include Aug. 8 in Waynesville, Aug. 22 in West Carrollton, Aug. 29 in Toledo and Sept. 4 in West Chester.
