The studio offers cosmetic tattooing of eyebrows, eyeliner, lips, 3D areolas and scar camouflage, Vannoy, a certified cosmetic tattoo artist, said. When she makes the move downtown, her business will also offer cosmetic tattoo training, body piercings and other tattooing services.
Before owning her own cosmetic tattooing studio, Vannoy was a cosmetologist.
“I went to cosmetology school when I was 19, that was about a year after I had my daughter,” Vannoy said. “About half way through cosmetology school, I remember scrolling through Facebook and I saw this video about microblading.”
The American Med Spa Association describes microblading as a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to improve the perceived thickness of eyebrows.
Vannoy said after watching the video, she was invested. She took a training class in Cleveland and began microblading, while she was still cutting hair.
“I was really busy with both - which was a huge blessing, but it was definitely overwhelming,” Vannoy said.
After choosing to focus on cosmetic tattooing to be able to spend more time with her daughter, she said that she saved her money and opened her own business on West Harding Road - where she has operated for over two years.
Vannoy explained that she decided to move downtown after a client told her a space had opened up near Champion City Hair Studio and Frame Haven.
“I looked in the window and thought oh my god this is perfect,” Vannoy said. “I’m really excited to see it come together.”
Eyebrow tattooing services at Microblading & Company, LLC range from $650 to $750 depending on the technique.
“I enjoy this so much because I”m a female. I know what it’s like to pick yourself apart and not feel comfortable with yourself,” Vannoy said. “It’s just really awesome to give women that confidence with something as small as their eyebrows, eyeliner or lips.”
